SOURCING EXCELLENCE

More Data Is Not a Better Decision

Procurement has spent years trying to get better visibility into its data.

Spend. Suppliers. Markets. Risk.

Now AI gives us even more of it, faster.

That is useful. But it does not solve the sourcing problem.

We still have to decide what matters. Cost versus capacity. Risk versus concentration. Savings versus flexibility. And how much we are willing to give up on one to get more of another.

Those are not data questions.

They are decisions.

Better information can improve a decision. It cannot define the objective, resolve competing priorities, or decide which tradeoff the business should accept.

As information becomes easier to generate, the constraint moves somewhere else: deciding what matters and getting the organization aligned around it.
